Update in the Philippines

Yesterday was my first day doing full time massage work. I had 5 scheduled massages. I canceled 1 when I found out the guy had cancer. So I only performed 4 massages.

Many people are very discouraged by the idea of the massages and for very good reasons. There was a reflexolgist that came threw here much the same way I am in recent times. Many people still have the oil used for rubbing. And are offering it to me as massage oil. Considering I traveled with very little resources I'm taking advantage of that. However the reflexologist was said to have hurt many peoples feet.

I was also shown somebody who had cancer of the bones. There was some missionary doctors who came to town and started giving her chemotherapy. They doctors mission was over before the girls cancer healed. The family couldn't afford chemo at a real clinic and the girl basically looks very rotted and probably would have been better off without any treatment at all.

I know that a few people on this list are in the medical profession or are studying to be a part of the medical profession. I want to remind everybody that modern medicines are not a good idea on mission trips unless you know you can finish all treatments needed on a person %100. If you can't finish treatment or do fallow ups then modern medicines can do much more harm then good. Use holistic and naturalistic approaches to medicines if you can't or even might not be able to finish a treatment. These approaches may not be as effective but any good done is still done even if treatment isn't finished.

God Bless,

Eddie
