The 13th day

Today is the 13th day of the month. I guess people here are very superstitious. They believe that the 13th is a day of bad luck. Therefore we had to go to church at 6:00AM to start the day with God. Their where more people at the church then on Sunday. After Church we had to light a candle and pray 13 Hail Mary’s. This is to make the number 13 be a good number since Hail Mary’s are a good thing in any number. After that we had to reach up some guys dress and touch his leg. I realized after words that it was to be a time of alms giving. You are supposed to drop money in his socks. I didn’t know that and I didn’t give any money. I was just told to touch him like everybody else was doing. And People looked upset when I didn’t want to so I touched his leg.

I think we should do this at home. I want to be the guy in a dress receiving alms.

People seem very upset and stressed today. More stressed then when the pope died or when there kid gets stepped on.
